Will this work on 2001 harley? ultra?

How well does this antenna work if it is hidden under the dash? Or does it need to be out on top of the dash to really have any benefit?

I wouldn't put it under dash, I ran mine through A pillar and stuck it on windshield behind rear view mirror can see it . Enough wire available . My antenna broke and it's a good replacement.

Is this antenna powered? If yes how does it get power?

needs no power. Just stick it above your mirror on your Front windshield and plug it in to your radio.. I just installed it in a 1964 Fairlane and now I have a working radio in my car. Factory AM radio. When I restored the car I didn't realize the car had no hole for the antenna.
