About the Director ------------------ After graduating from Korea National University of Arts and the Korean Academy of Film Arts with a directing major, Jung Huh has made his directorial debut with Hide and Seek. He managed to win awards back-to-back at the Mise-en-Scene Short Film Festival two years in a row where many famous Korean directors began their careers. With his graduation short film Joo-hee, Huh won the Special Jury Award and in 2010 he won the Extreme Nightmare section's Best Film Award with Cursed Period. Having declared his debut in Korean cinema with Hide and Seek, director Huh is showcasing matured directorial skills that are unheard of for someone who is only in his early 30s. He s using his young sense of style to create visually arresting pieces of work that feel very fresh. Director Huh challenges the argument that the modern public is more afraid of being watched by an unknown entity than supernatural elements such as ghosts. He added that this subconscious and realistic fear rose from our homes.
