KastKing MegaJaws Baitcasting Reel, Industry First Color-Coded Gear Ratios from 5.4:1 to 9.1:1, Fishing Reel with 11+1 High Performance BB, Magnetic Braking System, 17.6 Lb Carbon Fiber Disc Drag

As usual Kastking did not disappoint. Another awesome reel. A few months back, I decided to buy what was being sold as a $100 reel from another company. I waited until they were on sale and got 2 for 1. That alone should have been a red flag. Even though I only paid $50 a piece for the reels, I still feel ripped off. Obviously the people who were raving about the quality of these reels on social media and the company website have never tried Kastking. I'll put my kastking, Spartacus, royale legend elite, megajaws, valiant eagle, summer and centron up against those guys reels any day. Even their higher priced ones. Rods are awesome too! I'm waiting right now for my royale legend 7'3 heavy rod to arrive. I challenge anyone to find a better quality product for the money.

So far, I’m really liking this Kastking Megajaws black reel. Smooth casting, easy to adjust, reels really smooth. Lightweight, but not cheap feeling. I really like the adaptive spool tension. Makes fine tuning much easier.Edit......a few trips out with this reel and I am thrilled with the performance. I can pitch, flip, long casts, short casts it really does just about do it all. Couldn’t make it backlash.

I own 7 KastKing baitcasters. My favorite was my speed demon. I like that more than my speed demon pro. Since I got my MegaJaws I hae fell in love with this reel. Its lighter and cast better than my Diawa Tatula SV. So to sum it up you get a high end reel performer at a budget price. My only dislike is when I slowly turn the handle after a cast it will slip. If I turn it at a regular pace I never have that slip. Not even a big deal.

I bought the red 9.1:1 model for my Dad this Christmas and he was blown away by the quality and performance of this reel and even some of the KastKing products that I own. This reel takes up a lot of line quickly and is a great option for flipping and pitching. We're not professional anglers by any means but we are pretty seasoned fishermen. KastKing has absolutely surprised me with every reel that I have bought and I am a firm believer in their products. I've turned family members and other friends of mine into believers as well and they all were stunned by how much bang for the buck you get when it comes to KastKing. I own other more expensive reels from all the popular companies but they don't get nearly as much love as my KastKing reels get. Keep up the great products KastKing and keep it fun and affordable for us all.

First impression when unboxing this beast was simply "wow"!!! Not that it has anything to do with performance but the mean look from this reel makes it much more attractive than most. As soon as I got it in my hands I fell in love. It's a low profile unit and fits perfectly into my palm, just how most people like it. The rubber core handle grips are another winning feature. Very comfortable and extremely durable. The action and performance of this reel are extremely smooth. Almost as if the reel does the work for you. Aside from the smoothness, the star handle which controls over 17 lbs of carbon fiber disc drag and the knurled tension knob both have a click indicator to alert you when they are in motion. It has a magnetic casting control system with a total of 8 magnets and 10 settings that allow you to easily make adjustments to control any type of runs or backlashing. I could go on all day about this reel and I could still never say enough. I've caught multiple species of fish with this, including ones weighing over 20 lbs and measuring over 40". If you're looking for a reel that can do it all, this would be the option for you. This reel along with the other color coded reels with a variety of gear ratios is you're only need.

I have used many reels and have never used one that casts so far, is so fast, is so smooth, and so easy to use! The new graduated tension knob is amazing and easy to set to the weight of your bait and the braking system is awesome. #kastking is coming up with amazing ideas and I will be purchasing the rest of the mega jaws reels to add to my Kastking outfits. Amazing product and a definite recommendation.

I thought this reel was very nice. Took me a little time to dial it in but once I got it right, this reel was quiet, very smooth and you could cast it a mile. Really liked the second breaking system. It clicked 3 times in between each number to get it exact. My reel was a 7.2:1 and pulled one 4 pounder out of some cover with ease. I would recommend.

I am a big fan of Kastking products and really appreciate their value inthe fishing tackle market.I own 3 kastking rods and 6 Kastking baitcaster reels. I have been really happy with the quality of all the previous baitcaster reels, however the Megajaws was a major disappointment. The reel failed to cast properly and would not engage to retrieve when turning the handle. I had no choice but to return it. Please improve your QC process.Update: Changed from 2 stars to 4 starsKastking reached out to me and offered to stand behind their product by sending me a replacement Megajaws at no cost. They did wanted me to be happy and felt that I may have got a faulty unit that somehow slipped through the cracks.The new unit arrived and I tested it out. The new unit functioned perfectly.As I have mentioned I have several Kastking reels they have all worked well for me and are priced at a very reasonable rate for the reel that you get. I would recommend them... especially for those starting out or fishing on a budget. They represent much better value than Abu Garcia etc.
