I am very pleased with this Futon. For me, the worst part of ordering such items is the assembly. I really don't like assembling furniture. I was very pleased that all the parts were there and went together without problems. They could have done a better job with the instructions, but I got through it. The final assembly is as pictured and works very well. The mattress is also very good quality.

Honestly, when I received the product in different shipments I was nervous. I didn't know what to expect. Laying all of the pieces out made it look like an overwhelming project. But once you go through the step by step instructions you can see the fruits of your labor take shape. Building the frame was super easy and the wood is excellent quality. I only had one issue during the assembly and that was with attaching the upper half to the lower half. I don't feel the instructions were very clear on that process. I had installed the screw hole covers before joining those two pieces and I had to pry those covers off in order to loosen the lower frame screws. This way, both halves could be joined. Removing the screw hole covers made me scratch the wood a little, but it wasn't all too bad. Apart from the small issue with assembly, the futon is very comfortable to lay on. I had some family stay a couple of nights and they mentioned how comfortable it was. They didn't want to get out of bed in the morning! I love this futon and I'm extremely pleased with the end result. One additional thing I would say is that the mattress doesn't smell very good whenever you receive it. It smells a bit like a barn. However, once you air it out for a few days the smell WILL go away. So no need to worry about that. Great product and I would recommend this to anyone!

Its a nice futon, looks nice, didnt need to be a rocket scientist to put it together. Instructions are adequate not sure why some whined about them. The important pieces are color coded, hardware they show ya big pics of as needed. Follow the directions and you shouldnt have any problems. The mattress, not hard, not soft, is okay to sleep on, when folded to the sofa postion, is just okay. Maybe this is just because I got the "queen" set, but its very difficult to fold up from bed to sofa. The easiest way i found was to just remove the matress, fold it up then put the matress back on. Mattress is heavy, so not the idea scenario, but doable. I guess the thought being, you're not going to be doing this every day anyway. Shipping was awesome, mattress came first then frame the following day, all was before expected. Boxes are heavy, so be prepared. You will need quite a bit of room to assemble. Frame seems very solid, i saw some reviews that theirs broke... I'm, 225lbs and while sleeping, sitting, or folding it up, didnt seem weak at all. Not sure any futon is built to withstand gynnastic intimacy, or to have 3 rather robust persons on it, so take those reviews with a grain of salt. Over all, am satisfied with the purchase, I would imagine I will have this for several years and have zero concerns about the longevity of the futon. The mattress, is okay for now, it doesnt seem like if will pack down with use, but we will see.... (2 months later) Still love the futon, is still comfy. Make no mistake, one person is not folding this from bed to couch by themselves, without removing the matress. I bought the queen size, so keep this in mind. Also, with the queen size, the back when folded up is very very high unless you want the seat portion to stick out far. Still like it, serves my purpose. Save your back, remove the matress before trying to fold it up.

We removed our old l-shaped couch from our RV because the faux leather was just coming off in small pieces everywhere. We looked at all types of replacement RV couches and recliners everywhere. After removing our old set and based on the fact that we had 80" of room, we finally decided that the Stanford set sold by DCG stores would fit our needs. After placing my order thru Amazon, several days later I contacted Amazon with a request to upgrade the mattress. Amazon contacted the vendor and relayed our request. Allana with DCG stores contacted me and explained the differences in materials, athesitics and details about the construction. We decided on the upgrade after working with her. What a wonderful knowledgeable person she is to work with. Well since this went down without a hitch, everything arrived in about 4 or 5 days. The mattress came first. We waited until we assembled the frame (about 2-hours) which wasn't hard at all and then unpacked the mattress. Instructions say to let it sit for about 48 hours. Within 3 or 4 hours it looks fantastic. The frame is assembled except we haven't attached to the arms as we have to move them into the RV to do that for easier installation. We will install tomorrow morning. We are so excited for this alternative setup since the couch we had from day one was never comfortable as a lot of RV furniture generally is not. Another issue we were concerned about was overall weight. This option is heavy, but not as heavy as trying to fit a 3 seat theater type recliner/couch. We believe that is a cheaper option that looks great and will serve our needs for watching tv or taking a quick nap. Definite upgrade for our RV. Can't praise the DCG folks enough for the reasonably priced and quality pieces that we purchased on Amazon.

Purchased this in March 2024 to replace a bed in the room our college age sons still share, as the beds take up a lot of space and didn't want to replace with another one. This futon is more comfortable than the original bed! It is a solid piece of furniture, the cushion is thick and cozy. It functions great as an everyday couch, in fact they never change the setup and just sleep on it in couch form. This was a great purchase.

I love it and hate it. Assembly wasn't very difficult. It's attractive, comfortable for sleeping, and sturdy enough, however it is not like other futons in that the mattress is SO HEAVY that it is very difficult to drop into bed position and impossible for me to turn back into a sofa. At first, I thought I assembled it incorrectly, but I removed the mattress (after much difficulty because I'm no longer a young man), and the mechanism worked fine. I've had other futons that were a breeze, but not this one. Good futon if you are young and in great shape.

TLDR: This is a good futon frame. If there is a way to get the frame and buy a mattress separately do that. The smell is really bad. My husband has bad allergies, and very bad sense of smell and he can smell the paint smell on the futon. My main issue with this futon is the mattress. It smells so strongly of paint the room is unusable. Its like when you paint a room and are waiting for the paint to dry, except there is no paint, and the smell permeates the whole room. We have had the window in the room open for more than 24 hours, with a dyson air purifier and fan running in the room and it still smells strongly of paint. Unfortunately the smell of the futon mattress is so bad it renders the rest of the futon unusable. In addition the mattress has these unappealing white stitches that look like they should have buttons on them but don't...you can't see that the mattress has those from the photos, but that is what is causing the dimpling look. Its odd they wouldn't have made those red. I have contacted the seller, and am hoping they can either assist with removing the smell, or offer a way that we can get a new mattress or a refund for just the mattress. The futon itself is sturdy and well constructed. I was happy with the size, wood quality, and its really very nice. The only call out I have about the construction is that the additional legs for when the Futon is in the 'bed' position on the queen version of this futon are not very sturdy. They are not secured with any kind of nut, it' just one long screw that sticks out of them and they are supposed to swing in and out.
