It tastes good but kinda more chewy than an actual piece of jerky. It is good but not quite a replacement for the real thing. I would still get it again! I love the flavor.

This is the best jerky I’ve ever eaten, period. It’s way better than any beef jerky I ever had when I did eat meat. I’m Autistic so texture is everything to me, more so than taste. Beef jerky was always way too tough to me but this isn’t like that. The texture is perfect. The taste is on point to the taste of beef jerky and it doesn’t have that sweetness that I don’t care for in jerky. It’s not too peppery either. Just right. I will definitely be ordering in bulk from the company from now on.

I've been a vegetarian for almost 45 years. As junior high school student in the late 70's, while I was still a meat-eater, I lost 60 pounds (low carb diet) by snacking on Lowry's Beef Jerky instead of Nacho Cheese Doritos and French fries. When I stopped eating meat at age 16, the one and only thing I missed was Lowry's jerky. I like - not love - Louisville Vegan Jerky, and one, major improvement would make me rethink that fifth star: Better consistency. I'm not a fan of the soft chewiness; the "traditional" jerky I remember was tougher, more rigid - harder to bite and chew. I enjoy the flavor of Louisville Vegan Jerky, but the lack of snap and stiffness is disappointing.

I’ve been a vegetarian for over 34 years. I don’t miss much but I was very fond of beef jerky back in my youth. I have tried every brand of vegan jerky I can find (there are many including tempeh strips). The last one I tried was Beyond Meat’s and I was very disappointed. There was a plastic like taste to the flavors I tried although the texture was good. This jerky, although rather pricey, has a nice texture and the flavor is just right. I find it very filling/satisfying so a pack goes a long way. The smoked black pepper is not too peppery at all and the lowest in sugar. Highly recommend! Now if they would just put it in a non-plastic package it would be perfect.

I got the smoke black pepper flavor and it's just alright. It's definitely not the texture of tradition jerky. It's softer and overall easier to eat, which isn't a negative, it just doesn't last as long in your mouth as other jerky. I kind of wish it was dried out more or something to make it more chewy. There's a strong taste of soy sauce and black pepper, which makes complete sense. There's not a single speck of the garlic, brown sugar onion or other spices listed in the ingredients. It just tastes like you're eating soy sauce and black pepper. It says it has a natural smoke flavor, but there's a slight aftertaste similar to liquid smoke. I'll probably end up trying one or two other flavors since I'm trying to find a good replacement for Beyond Jerky (rip babe) So far I'm not impressed. The texture and flavor are nowhere near what I was expecting.

It was so good I bought two other flavors! Even my non vegan family likes them! I will absolutely buy this again!
