Scissors as described. I’ve been using them for upholstery and they cut right down to the tip. Very sharp

Bought these for general purpose snipping of random things in a damp-prone unheated garage, and I can't fault them - they're exceptional value for the price. I was worried that they might go rusty over the Winter, so I've got a bit of VCI (volatile corrosion inhibitor) paper wrapped around the blades while they sit in the plastic sheath they were shipped in, and I'm happy to report that this has worked a treat and they haven't picked up a trace of rust, unlike other ferrous items in the vicinity. If you're worried about scissors going rusty, then this is the trade-off: rust-free (e.g., stainless steel or chromed) scissors aren't sharp to start with, are difficult to re-sharpen, and don't hold an edge. Sharp blades at a decent price will be prone to corrosion, so they need to be kept in a dry environment, or to be regularly oiled so there's always a protective film on them. Wrapping in VCI paper will also keep the rust at bay for a year or two, after which the paper is spent and needs to be replaced. It is possible to make decent rust-resistant blades (think Wusthof or Global), but the processes necessary to achieve this make them very expensive, and they tend to require a skilled and patient hand to sharpen.
