Powerful

POWERFUL - LAUREN ROBERTS If you are not sure about this book/series, what are you doing? I can tell you now this series is EVERYTHING. It warms your heart in ways I cannot fathom but also crumbles and smashes your itsy bitsy heart to pieces. But books am I right? Hahaha ✨fictional men✨ Enjoy 😘 I can’t deal with this book. Lauren Robert’s you have officially broke my heart all over again. I just cannot express how much I love this series. As a reader it’s nice to have characters that you can actually like, with Lauren Robert’s though, you can connect and feel with the characters. You fall in love with them. You route for them. I’ve never had a book/series like this. And I am so stumped that it’s not July yet because I want Reckless, like yesterday!! This is a Powerless Story through the eyes of our beloved Adena. She’s a seamstress who has stitched her and Paeydn a life in the slums. Adena stitches and creates clothing whilst Paedyn steals those ridiculously good sticky buns. Now if you’ve read Powerless like myself you already know what happens - I’m not gonna spoil it for you though if you haven’t. This novella is incredible and the character development for Makoto is sublime - I’d love to know if he’s a main character for Reckless, or will we get a novella from his POV? Lauren let us know please ;) This book literally tugs on my heart strings and I have to admit I did shed some tears. There’s literally not enough words for me to write about this book; so instead I’ll share with you some of my favourite quotes 🤍✨ Powerful quotes ⚔️“See you in the sky” ⚔️“You make even the stars envious, because one day - far from now - you will be up there beside them, outshining every single one” ⚔️“You are the sweetest thing I have never tasted. And I doubt I’ve craved anything more.” ⚔️“I think you’re my little piece of perfection.” ⚔️“I’ve spent my whole life wishing to be wanted. And here he is, begging me to let him.” Fictional men, ummm helloooo? Makoto and Kai are putting out competition for all you lovely lot so step up your game ;) Powerless was a good story and I know it was left on a cliffhanger ish, on purpose but there was so much tension throughout the book that I was kinda sad we didn’t get our happy ending. However now that I’ve read Powerful, I completely understand why that book was left the way it was, and why the things happened the way they did. Also I’m pretty sure we got an extra chapter of Reckless in this novella am I right?? Because HELLO!! Honestly I cannot put together the words or even string a whole sentence together with the amount of love I have for this book. It has truly cured my reading slump because I was so sick of buying books and then DNFing them. Following Adena’s character is amazing, her POV is so bubbly and fun and very glass half full, looking on life. Like her situation is in lamens terms, she’s homeless. But she uses this to sew pretty clothes, indulge on sticky buns with her best friend and spends countless nights counting stars. Her character is simply lovely, she’s such a bundle of joy and I love how Robert’s has been able to perceive that character and really put it across to the reader. It’s not too descriptive but it’s not boring either, it’s just enough so you can really feel the connection with the character. Overall - 5 STARS! If I could give this book more stars I would 🤍 Lauren I love you, your writing is effervescent ✨⚔️🤍

Unrelenting, unremitting, unapologetic romance. Perhaps a bit saccharine, but rendered poignant by the knowledge of how it will end.

This is a novella. Part of a fantasy series called 'Powerless..' Book one of which was 'Powerless'. This takes place at the same time as a lot of the events in that book. It focuses on a character called Adena. Who was involved in that novel. But was offscreen for a lot of it. So here's some of her backstory. And things she was doing during the Powerless story which that book didn't really get into. Thus I think you might find this a bit confusing if you've not read Powerless. If you have, then read on. This runs for two hundred and forty four pages. There's a double page spread at the front about the special abilities of people in the world of the story. Then a prologue. Which gives us some of Adena's backstory. Then it's into the main narrative. This does take a moment to settle down. Because the viewpoint jumps between chapters. From Adena in first person to another character. In first person. The story being about their relationship as certain things happen. Since the first chapter starts in the middle of things, it did take me a few pages to really get used to his this was written and what was going on. And to tell the two character voices apart. I soon did though. So stick with this and it becomes readable. The other thing to note about this is, of course, if you've read Powerless, you know exactly how this is going to end. So can this manage to come up with a story that will keep you involved? Yes. It's a very solid character story. It succeeds because it did make me feel invested in the relationship and what was going on. So I was so hooked on following on that I was paying complete attention to it. Rather than thinking about what would happen at the end. It's very readable. And you do care for the characters also, so it really does hook. I would say if you liked Powerless, then you really need to read this as well. Because it's nice extra detail. On so many levels. Spoilers for some. A good and memorable read. Glad we got this tale.

Good quality prompt delivery

An amazing book I love the powerless trilogy I'm looking forward to reading reckless. 100% recommended. It focuses on the character of Adena more a brilliant insight to the powerless book. Would recommend reading powerless before as it would make more sense

This novella takes place during the 1st book and added another dimension to the side characters were introduced to in the main trilogy. It was a good read and quite diverting. Favourite quotes include: She is an intoxicating sort of exhausting, like running until you’ve lost your breath but enjoying the feeling all the while. And I feel as though I’ve been sprinting for days. Even worse, I fear that I am, in fact, beginning to enjoy her. “You are the sweetest thing I have ever tasted.” Another brush of his knuckles. “And I doubt I’ve craved anything more.”

My teenage daughter loves these books

Powerful by Lauren Roberts is a companion novella to Powerless, offering a deeper exploration of Adena’s journey and emotional growth. This book shifts focus from the high-stakes trials of Powerless to a more intimate, character-driven story set in the unforgiving world of Loot. Through its themes of resilience, love, and self-discovery, Powerful delivers an emotional punch despite its shorter length. Adena – Once sheltered and dependent on others, Adena is thrust into a world where survival is no longer a luxury. Her kindness, empathy, and determination remain her defining traits, making her an easy character to root for. Her growth from someone who needs protection to someone capable of standing on her own is one of the novella’s biggest strengths. Makoto (Mak) Khitan – The grumpy blacksmith with a hidden heart of gold, Mak is the perfect contrast to Adena’s warmth. His past is shrouded in mystery, and his reluctance to let anyone in adds a layer of tension to their growing relationship. His quiet yet unwavering devotion makes him a compelling love interest. Unlike the controlled setting of the trials in Powerless, Powerful takes place in the slums of Loot, where survival is uncertain, and danger lurks in every corner. The setting adds urgency to Adena’s journey, making her growth feel earned. The story trades large-scale conflicts for personal stakes, focusing on survival, companionship, and self-worth. Lauren Roberts excels at evoking emotions, making even the quiet moments between characters feel impactful. The prose remains as vivid and immersive as in Powerless, painting a rich picture of both setting and emotions. While the book is short, the story feels complete, with a satisfying arc for Adena and Mak. The novella balances hope and heartbreak, making the emotional moments hit hard. The relationship between Adena and Mak carries the story, full of tension, longing, and quiet understanding. At its core, this is a story of finding strength in the face of adversity. Strengths ✔ Strong Character Development – Adena’s transformation is inspiring, and Mak’s layers make him an unforgettable character. ✔ Emotional Depth – The book captures love, loss, and resilience beautifully. ✔ Engaging Romance – The grumpy-sunshine dynamic between Adena and Mak is both heartwarming and compelling. ✔ Well-Written for a Novella – Despite its brevity, the story feels rich and complete. Powerful is a beautifully written, emotionally resonant novella that expands on the world of Powerless while standing on its own as a heartfelt story of survival and love. Adena and Mak’s journey is one of growth, healing, and quiet strength, making this a must-read for fans of the series. Though it lacks the fast-paced action of Powerless, its emotional impact more than makes up for it. I literally could not crying in my class and they stare at me like "why is this girl crying?". Powerful stole my heart and now I cannot wait for Fearless ⭐5/5 – A tender and emotional companion novel that shines with strong character development and romance.

Bellissima edizione e bellissima novella!! Merita di essere letta da tutti!
