Are they French Laguiole or a Chinese imitation?

These are made in China under license of the French Laguiole company. I have both the original French knives and the licensed variety and find the Chinese Flying Colors superior.

Are they dishwasher safe?

The handles are wood - so they should not be put in a dishwasher that dries with heat. Having said that I've put mine in the dishwasher for 10 years. Wood handle lost shine but they're fine. Excellent knives! My grandson asked for a set fot his 21st birthday! Go figure!
