The Book of Hadith: Sayings of the Prophet Muhammad from the Mishkat Al Masabih

An excellent book that teaches the character of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). A great source of knowledge about Islam taught the right way. I am also very impressed with the introduction. The author says and is backed up later in the book the a Hadith of the said from the Prophet (PBUH) "You must gain all the knowledge possible before making a decision" "The worst of people are the scholars who use knowledge for the wrong reason. The best of people are the scholars how use their knowledge for good" This is important to me because I do believe non-Muslims do get the wrong impression of Islam because they do not have all the correct information. Also many Muslims are lead down the wrong path because someone knowledgeable has manipulated them. The book encourages everyone take the information and make the best informed decision with the help of their perception and common sense. The quote are also in the original Arabic with the English translation. Just the last thing to point out and this is also said in the book, a Hadith is only 100% accurate when it agrees with the Quran. The Prophet (PBUH) was the best of all humans, but he was just that human. Like in the Hadith of the people growing dates sometimes if asked he gave his opinion, if asked about religion he was quote the Quran. This is an excellent book of knowledge.

A nice choice from the Hadith and well presented. From this collection you learn that Mohammed lived the Koran. I'm not a Muslim nor raised as a Muslim but reading the Koran, The Life of Mohammed and this collection I find there is much to learn and to admire in Islam, the Messenger, his outlook of life and his teachings. It is a pity that much, especially the revolutionary and emancipatory meaning of the Koran and the Hadith, is not to be found back in every day and radical interpretations of Islam.

The selection of Hadiths (mostly from Aisha's recording) is spiritually inspiring, and shows the wisdom, humanity and tenderness of The Prophet.

This book confirms my view. It (is) an interesting read that affirms my understanding of a complex question. More of a hard read than a helps and concordance.

I purchased The Book of Hadith to read and learn more bout Islam for myself so as not to just know what is said on the media. The Book of Hadith is enlightening and I do recommend others to read as well.

This book is a joke, a collection of American idols, titled on the second page a year to remember 1933, this is a book that has been covertly or intentional produced as a slur against Islam. I am not a Muslim but researching reasons why this religion is expanding worldwide, and I do not need this mickey taking or waste of my time returning a falsehood at my expense and time. Amazon do your proof reading, if you want my custom. i pity all the other customers who were similarly duped on buying this book.

For those who were told differently and are concerned of evil and good then rest assured and read the Words of the Prophet, Islam is pure Goodness and no evil it FORBIDS EVIL. this book will allow you to understand Islam and the prophet clearer. Islam is not what you think rather it is what you need (: even just knowing the truth about islam and it’s goodness will relax your heart about Muslims and allows you to have ease around muslims and it will allow you to see where the true evil comes from corrupted governments and corrupted. May Allah guide all.

With thousands of hadiths on the books--many volumes of books--this book provides a good start to understand hadiths themselves, whence they came, and how to go about collecting or using them. The Saudi downloadable collection of hadiths from Bukhari, Malik, Muslim, and Dawud by itself contains 18,000 hadiths. Understanding the Quran is a great achievement in Islam--many who can recite it from memory do not always understand it; however, a collection and understanding of the hadiths may be more practical. The Chinese say that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. This step is one worth taking.

Muhammad was a real person, and he actually had a funny sense of humor. Yes, he was inspired. Yes, he changed the world. These are stories collected by his friends and families. My favorite: Muhammed sent his wife to get his prayer mat from the temple. His wife commented that she was during menses, (and it might not be appropirate for her to go to temple, and touch his prayer matt, while she was on her period. She was "unclean". "Typical Jewish Red Tent Thinking.") Mohammed's answer, "You aren't menustrating with your hands, are you? Go get my matt." Very enlightening treatment of women at a time, when women weren't always treated well. Not what we think of in Islam. Funny sayings for everything from kids stealing from his garden, throwing rocks at his house, dealing with relatives. dealing with drunk servants.
