Worked like a champ on a 2016 Chevy Equinox. I installed new TPMS sensors in all tires and this made training simple and easy on first try.

Got this to try relearning a 2017 Malibu. On the 2017, the driver front sensor was not registering on the dashboard tire pressure readout. Tested the tool first on a 2018 Malibu and it worked perfectly. On the 2017, could not get a horn beep for the driver front tire. Other three sensors gave a beep, after which ALL tire readouts showed "---". Turns out this was not a relearning issue. A TPMS sensor is powered by an internal battery that lasts 5-10 years and then has to be replaced. ALL sensors have to be "relearned" successfully, in clockwise order starting with driver front, or the entire pressure monitoring system fails. A such, this tool would be most useful if you replace sensors yourself (several online videos offer tips on doing so without special tools), if you rotate tires, or if you have multiple tire sets (e.g., summer ad winter). In that regard, this unit works very well. It also identified the sensor that had a dead battery, although it cannot tell you battery condition. Some tire shops will do this for you for free or at minimal charge and identify a weak or failed battery using a much more expensive tool. There are stories of dealerships charging $100 for doing a scan. This scan tool is a great addition to your tool box as a first step in troubleshooting TPMS problems. It can't "fix" everything, but it can identify dead sensors and relearn good ones.
