Nice ice cream scoop
We loved our very old Zeroll ice cream scoop but unfortunately our son put it in the dishwasher and ruined it. We bought this as a replacement and although not as nice a fit-in-the-hand scoop as our old one was, it works nicely so far. I was very spoiled by our old one but I’m sure it will just take a little more time to wear it in. Hand wash- no dishwasher! We recommend it.

Great Scoop!
Costs a bit more, but probably the best scoop out there. Well built and easy to use. Run it under hot water a bit, then glide it through the ice cream. When done, another hot water rinse-dry and ready to go. 👌

Works okay
I was indeed stoked to find there was a product out there that seemed to permit perfect scoops of ice cream with the frozen tundra that comes right out of the freezer! What a boon to me, a take-home Cold Stone regular... not only that, but the science behind it was sound and interesting. Did I mention it would also let me scoop hard ice cream? Got it, and tested it immediately on a tub that was right out of the freezer and solid. Followed instructions to the letter... Unfortunately, it wasn't that impressive. It's not magic. It just allows the scoop business end to glide through the upper 1/2" or so of hard ice cream a bit faster than a normal scoop. You can feel the cold seep into the freon in the handle as the scoop makes its way through the ice cream, which is neat. But my hand heat, at the recommended spot in the recommended way, doesn't make scooping magic as I thought it might. Perhaps with a few minutes air time, good ice cream will soften enough to allow carte blanche scooping, in real spherical scoops. With Cold Stone it takes only about a minute or so in 80 degF weather (I'm in Hawaii) to be soft enough for this Zeroll to make its perfect-shape 3" orbs with. But it does NOT, repeat, does NOT let you glide through hard ice cream as effortlessly as you think. I'm a pretty big guy, and I have to work the Zeroll to get a scoop, just a little less than if I'd used a normal scoop, and a lot more than if I'd waited 2 mins. :/ Still, nice quality. I find a short dab with warm water in the scoop, allows it to work better (do NOT use hot water for too long, or the scoop can spew freon liquid all over, from what I've read about dishwasher incidents here). Pros: Little less effort with rock-hard ice cream. Nice build quality. Cons: Not the miracle product you may think it is, but it does what claims -- reduces effort. A little. Conclusion: I wouldn't buy one again at its price point. But with its quality, won't need another one for a long time either. :)

Best ICE CREAM SCOOP on the market!
I was looking for the best possible ice cream scoop by searching on line & reading reviews. Did a top 10 ice cream scoop and after all my searching was completed I came up w/ buying this one! Was my research worthwhile? YESSSSSS!!!! This is hands down the BEST ice cream scoop around. When I first got it out of the box I was surprised, the surface on inside the scoop is like a brushed metal? I thought I made a mistake & this won’t work any better than the others we’ve had in the past, it looks just like the others. Now to put it to the test! Brought out fresh outta the freezer, cold hard ice cream to the touch. I scooped out my first perfectly formed scoop & it dropped right into the bowl no resistance or ice cream remnants on the scoop. So far so good, scoop #2, identical to the first scoop. Now, scoop number 3 (this is where I usually begin to see ice cream sticking to the scoop, not even a little, scoop 4 & 5 all perfect scoops! I could have kept going and pretty sure I’d get same results, but I still have to look after my girlish figure (that’s a joke, I’m a guy). Great results, read something that the heat from your hand warms the scoop but I’m really not sure if that’s it or not. Bottom line is I will guarantee this has to be best ICE CREAM scooper on the market! I wouldn’t waste any more time looking after you’ve read this review! #ISHOULDGETPAIDFORAREVIEWLIKETHIS #ORATLEASTAFREESCOOPER

Indestructible.
The last ice cream scoop you will need to buy. After many disappointing results from other scoops, this one stands far above any other. A bit pricey, but is solid, easy to use and made of quality materials. Easy clean, but do not put in dishwasher.

High Maintenance - Looks strong, actually quite fragile
I bought this on recommendation from Wirecutter, and the first time I used it, it was great. But the second time I went to use it, there was a black residue left on the ice cream. I put it in a coffee mug of hot tap water to wash it off, and to help heat it up for the ice cream. (I've seen that done at ice cream shops, seemed intuitive). But it got worse. I made sure we hadn't put it in the dishwasher, which we hadn't. I noticed on their website it also said it can't withstand temperatures over 140°. I reached out to the company who was very responsive and friendly. They let me know that the oxidation of the aluminum could be due to too much chlorine in our water, or the dish soap we use. We use Dawn dish soap (not abnormal), and our water has always seemed fine. We had already gone out of our way to wash it by hand, and if that isn't good enough, I feel like the product is too much of a pain to use. They let me know that the scoop is not permanently ruined, that with some elbow grease I could get the residue off and use it again. I have not had any success with that so far. Anything in our kitchen that can't go in the dishwasher is already working with a strike against it, and if it can't take hot water, or dish soap, it's just way too fragile for us. Especially for something that on outward appearance would seem so sturdy. To look at it, you would think it is bulletproof, so you could be forgiven for not inferring that it has such a long list of idiosyncrasies. It worked well the first time, the shape and feel seem great. But I need something that isn't so sensitive. If everyone in your house can remember not to put it in the dishwasher, or use the wrong soap, or get it too hot, or use water with too much chlorine, then this is the scoop for you.
