I purchased my Microsoft Arc Mouse (ELG-00001) six years ago. I've used it nearly every day since, bouncing it around in my laptop bag, and working on countless surfaces from cafe tables to kitchens, etc. It has performed marvelously. On the negative side, it's about twice as expensive as the Dell MS700. When this mouse crapped out in the last few months--I was no longer able to reliably select text, which seemed to be an issue with the buttons activating consistently--I replaced it with the cheaper Dell model ($47 vs. $90+ as I write). It seems virtually identical with the exception of a slightly less elegant way of collapsing the mouse for storage in your bag. We'll see, but the Dell model is working fine so far.
