Best shampoo for iron water I've found.
After moving somewhere with very hard (and specifically iron filled) water a few years ago, my hair really began to suffer. It started breaking off like crazy, wouldn't (or couldn't) grow fast enough to make up for it, and anywhere my hair was color treated, the dye washed out and was replaced with a nasty bright orange color. I tried everything. Seriously, everything. The Malibu Hard Water kit did absolutely nothing for me, all it did was dry out my hair without actually removing what I needed it to. The filter I put on my showerhead wasn't able to block enough of the iron in the water to make a noticeable difference, no matter what brand I tried. There are only TWO products that have helped with the iron in my hair, and this is one of them. I've been using this shampoo for a few months now (I use it about once a week to try to make it last longer since it's so expensive, but I also only wash my hair twice a week, so every other time) and I've noticed a difference in the quality of my hair. While it's still more prone to breakage than it was before I moved here, it's softer and I don't have to clean my hairbrush as often. The most noticeable difference is that the bright orange iron deposits in my hair are gone now - it's just a faded, normal blonde color. I don't think my hair will ever get back to how it was as long as I'm using this water, but using this shampoo makes it bearable and I no longer feel like I'm under threat of losing literally all of my hair. If you're having issues with iron or other metals in your water affecting your hair, this is the shampoo you want. And if you're really desperate and need extra help, there's one more product that I've found to actually work among the many I've tried: Color Wow Dream Filter Pre Shampoo Mineral Remover. You spray it on your dry hair and wait a few minutes before getting into the shower and rinsing it off, but I usually leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Then you shampoo and condition like usual. This was the only product that worked for me at all before using this shampoo - it made my hair softer and noticeably less orange. The shampoo has been working so well that I haven't bothered to buy more of it and try the two of them together, but if you're in a serious situation with your hair and need help, get both of these products. They're the only ones that have worked for me out of everything advertised for it. (And as a side note, I always chose to purchase the Dream Filter Mineral Remover from Sephora to make sure that I was getting a genuine product. I buy a lot of things from Amazon, but if I read the reviews and get the hint that there might be illegitimate copies mixed into the product supply, I find it somewhere else. I bought the shampoo here because I didn't see anything to indicate that was the case, but you might want to go to Sephora for the other just to be safe. It's usually expensive beauty products that they do this with.)

Excellent chelating shampoo for gray hair, removes hard water buildup
One of the best shampoos I have ever used. It did "lighten" my hair (so to speak) by removing metal/hard water and product build up. I did not find it to be drying or stripping at all. I can brush through my hair after using this, even if I didn't use a conditioner. This also gets my hair clean to a level where I feel like my "oily hair" problems are no longer an issue. It's rich and lathers extremely well. A little truly does go a long way. It's expensive, but worth it (especially for those with gray hair that tends to turn yellow from hard water). If you have color treated hair, you may want to avoid this shampoo (it might fade your color).

Lifechanging for the right issue being addreseed
I have porous, damaged hair that soaks up every single mineral in my hard water. Honestly, I was at a point where I dreaded washing my hair because of the tangled mess it left me with. My hair was dry and kind of oily at the same time, it just felt gross. I had tried other treatments, and they were decent but this was way better for my specific damaged hair problem. In just one use, I could tell as I rinsed out the shampoo that it was working because previously the tangles started when I rinsed my shampoo. It was soft and much more easily combed through. I have only used it once but felt compelled to write this review. The conditioner was great as well, thick and moisturizing. The oil/serum has not been delivered yet, but I am hoping all 3 will compliment each other. As far as the scent, some reviewers were turned off by it. I personally adore it, it smells delightful to me. This is simply a personal preference, I understand sensitivity issues, but I would use it even if it smelled like sour milk, that is how much it helped my dry, damaged hair get rid of the hard water issues. I will update this my opinion changes after further use.I do not write reviews, so that might tell you how much I loved this product after the first use.

Works for Hard Metal TDS of 365
Since people's hair is so varied in texture, thickness, oiliness, and scalp condition, I'll direct this review to those who have hair like mine... My hair is thin/fine, mostly straight with a slight wave. The texture is not coarse, though the hard water in my new place is making it both coarse and brittle. I don't have an excessively oily scalp, nor do I have dandruff. Okay, now that most people have stopped reading, here's how this shampoo works to remove hard water deposits for people with hair similar to mine: 1) I use my regular shampoo first. This is because I found that the metal detox shampoo does not remove the oil and dirt that I generally use shampoo for. It only attacks the hard metal deposits. So, if my hair and scalp need cleaning, I do that first. 2) After rinsing out the regular shampoo, I use this metal detox shampoo. I get a good lather and let it sit for a minute while I wash the rest of my body. 3) When I step out of the shower, I towel dry my hair thoroughly, because rinsing out the metal detox shampoo necessarily meant that more hard water deposits were trying to settle in, and it's best to remove as much water as possible before that happens. Since I can't stand blow drying my hair, I get it as dry as possible with a towel, followed by a comb/brush, then I let it air dry. 4) I don't use conditioner in the shower. If my hair feels like it needs it, I may comb in a little Moroccan oil after it dries. 5) I initially made the mistake of using the companion "Mask" product afterward, which is supposed to add a protection layer against future hard metal deposits. Never, ever again. Ever. It made my hair goopy, smelly, greasy and just plain gross. It was simply wrong for my hair. So, just the shampoo from now on. For me, this metal detox shampoo has been amazingly effective. My hair had become such a weird combination of goopy and brittle that when I lifted up the ends, they didn't drop smoothly like gravity normally causes. They stayed partially-lifted in the air, kind of like what happens when you encounter static electricity pulling a sweater over your head. And when I ran my fingers through it, they came away feeling slimy. It was so weird. I hadn't changed anything in my hair care routine except one thing: I moved to a new apartment, where it turned out the water was 365 TDS (that's high, in case you hadn't already guessed). So, after trying apple cider vinegar and multiple types of "clarifying" shampoos, I finally landed on this one. Since my landlord isn't about to install a water softener, and since all of those in-line shower filters really only deal with chlorine and actually do nothing at all for hard metals, this shampoo is saving me. I am seriously considering buying one of those portable camp showers, filling it with distilled water, and keeping it in the shower so I can wash my hair separately. That way, I might not have to use this shampoo as often (every third or fourth washing, depending on how it feels). But that's an experiment for another day. TLDR: Buy this shampoo...it works.

I like it enough
I do not know if shampoo can really remove metals from one’s air. I mean, the water is the last thing to saturate one’s hair, not the shampoo, so how can it? Nevertheless, the water where I live is very hard and my hair was not feeling that nice so I switched to this product. It smells good, lathers well, and my hair does feel nice and soft after I shampoo it with this. Unless my hair starts to feel yucky again, I will pretend it can remove the metals from my hair and keep using it.

Worth It!
Best product I’ve used in a long time. Don’t need much product each use, which helps to last awhile. Makes my hair feel so clean and refreshed.

Saved my hair!
After my water filter that removes iron malfunctioned, my hair became dry, brittle, tangled, and wouldn’t hold a curl. I didn’t realize at first the cause and was convinced my hair was never going to looks nice again. One wash with this, the orange faded and my hair felt better. Three washes and the orange is gone and my hair has never ever looked or felt so good! Soft and detangled, but not weighed down at all. Holds curl for days! I’m a little concerned the dimethicone might eventually cause buildup but I’ll just alternate with a “cone”-free shampoo if it does. So glad I found this! Wish I had taken before photos!

Best shampoo ever!!! Worth every penny
Holy cow this shampoo is amazing!!!! My hair has felt so weighed down, oily and stringy. I have tried several different shampoos and nothing really seemed to get my hair clean. This did it. My hair feels transformed and actually clean. My hair is shinny and not dry or damaged looking after one wash. I have thick, wavy color treated hair. I used the pink shampoo in this line and it worked for a while then just seemed to stop. I am so happy with this specific product and cannot recommend enough. My only con is the smell is not my favorite but I think I’ll get use to it, it’s not bad just more masculine than I prefer.
