Love collecting rocks and minerals. And my wife absolutely loved this little kit. Great for anyone and age. Good activity to do alone or together with someone. Comes with a nice book.

This is a cool learning resource, gift, or addition to collection. It includes so many different specimens. The kit is cool for any age and also includes an awesome guide. My kids loved the fossils as well. There are many topics that can be covered with these! The box is also reusable and easy for organization. Small bags are also included. The only con is the magnifier is tiny. But that isn’t a big deal. Everything else ROCKS! ;)

The rocks are smaller than I expected, but there was over 600 crystals in it, so that was awesome and way worth it!!

I gave this to my son as a Christmas present, and he had SO much fun with it. I had actually forgotten to review this and was looking back through my old purchases. Four years later, he STILL has a handful of these rocks. If you’re a parent, you know what a big deal that is. This is a gift with staying power. Highly recommend!

Lots of cool rocks… perfect for someone interested and in rockology!

This is a great bundle! I am an adult and an avid rock collector and this was a great selection. The reason there are 300 pieces is there is a thick, full small bag of chips (picture in bag) and a good amount of smaller pebble stones (picture in selenite bowl). There is a small handful of tumbles and a small handful of fossils. I received a great variety! The chips and small pebbles were different stones than are advertised, but that can make it a fun challenge for people wanting to learn more. The book was also great with lots of fun information, it also has plenty of pictures so this set is great for kids, young adults, or adults!

Lots of beautiful stones, but the reason for three stars is that the item description is slightly misleading. I was expecting the stones to be a bit larger. They don’t mention the size of the stones and if I would have know that over 3/4 of the stones were basically just chips of stones about 0.1-0.4 inches I would have went with another option.

As a longterm customer of National Geographic, the rock collection and book was a perfect gift for a young person who’s interested in geology.
