Beautiful, tactile, and very well made.. and effective too
It is not just for coffee! I really wanted something to make dinner time for my doggies quieter, and they certainly appreciate the quiet. I feed them biscuits and then mix in fish or chicken and a little veggies. Often times they can hoover up everything but the biscuits with ninja like precision, so to combat that so they get their nutrients I purchased an electric extremely noisy grinder. Its horrible and does a poor job. Now the TIMEMORE Chestnut C2S is absolutely fantastic. It grinds with superb precision, always the same, every time perfectly ground up dog biscuits. (they are about same size as coffee beans) I have to say the grinder is lovely, its so well engineered and requires hardly any effort to grind. It also feels great to grind things up so well and not make any noise. Man, I hated the stupid electric coffee grinder, its like a power tool!

Amazing manual grinder at a good price
I purchased this back in February after a bit of deliberation, lots of reading up on grinders, and going through reviews. I've been thoroughly happy with it and love that I can take it anywhere. It's metal construction gives it heft and feels secure in my hand, though it is a bit heavy (not an issue for me, but for those that might have weak grip strength, something to consider.) Removing the bottom where the ground coffee is collected, you can see the underside of the grinder and make your adjustments here. Super easy to do and I appreciate hearing the clicks as you turn it - allows you to count and know that sweet spot for whatever grind you want to switch to. Grinding is so easy and smooth. Depending on what beans I'm using (different beans, different weight, same volume), I can grind about 20g at a time which takes maybe 30 seconds. For my French press in the morning, I do two rounds of grinds. Grinds are pretty even and perfectly coarse. I've just purchased a Gaggia, so once it's delivered, I'll try to remember to come back and update on how the Chestnut C3S Max does on an espresso setting. Cleaning is easy - it comes with a brush that you can sweep the fine dust etc off the grinder machanism. The collection chamber can easily be rinsed and dried if needed. I've found that I've only had to sweep the grinder once or twice since I've had it and I've never had to clean the chamber. The grinds come out with little to no fuss. Overall, if you're looking for a good manual grinder that won't break the bank AND grind well, this is the one to get. I've had a cheapie plastic $30 manual grinder purchased here in the past that left a LOT to be desired. Pay the extra money and you'll be glad you did.

Loving it.
Let me preface this by saying I'm not some coffee expert. I like good coffee. Most of the time I just use my ninja drip. But I needed a quieter alternative for work, and one for camping. I experimented this week with it and I love it. I already bought a second one for at home/camping. As some reviewers have said about these hand grinders, you get much better quality for your money if you just put in a little manual effort. If you hate doing work, don't get a manual grinder, simple as that. It takes just over a minute to grind a full load at the relatively fine setting. I was recommended 1zspresso by a friend. But since I generally like to brew myself a full thermos worth either with drip, pour over, or French press, I wanted a larger capacity. I will typically do 28 g for a 17 oz thermos. This holds up to 30 g or so. And if I don't feel like weighing it, I can just fill the top with beans and it'll be slightly stronger. Like I said, I'm not too bothered by details. The uniformity of the grind seems pretty good to me. I attached pictures, so maybe someone with a better eye than me can say if it looks good or not. Either way, the coffee tastes pretty good. The build quality is just phenomenal. The knurled body feels great and provides the right amount of grip. The base is rubberized so it won't slide around on a table. That said, I usually hold it in one hand and turn with the other. The threading of the ground catch feels so good. It's extremely smooth and it just glides on and stays there. The bearings of the actual grinder feel precise and of great quality. There is zero play anywhere in this thing. It's amazing how much better quality this thing is for $100 than the Cuisinart we had for $75. Better coffee with the added benefit of not waking up your entire block. Is it better than 1zspresso? I don't know. But if you want the larger 30 g capacity, this thing is a no-brainer to me.

Very impressed. High quality.
High quality coffee grinder. This grinder is all metal and has some weight to it. The parts appear to be finely machined and everything connects with a solid quality feel. The capacity is not especially large - it grinds about one cup's worth of beans at a time. That's perfect for me though, as I typically grind for one single cup at a time. The grind size can easily be adjusted in fine increments. It comes packaged very nicely in a padded box and includes a separate soft cloth storage bag and brush to clean the inner workings. All in all, I'm very impressed. Would make a great gift.

Professional-Quality Grinder in Your Hands
I’ve had the TIMEMORE Chestnut C3S Max for a few days, and it’s already a game-changer for my coffee routine! The build quality is impressive — the aluminum body feels solid, the wooden handle is comfortable, and the design is sleek and compact. Grinding is smooth and surprisingly quiet for a manual grinder. The grind consistency is excellent, giving me great results with my pour-over and AeroPress. Adjusting the grind size is easy, making it simple to dial in the perfect cup. It’s also portable and easy to clean, perfect for home use or travel. Even after just a few days, it already feels like a professional tool. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to step up their coffee game!

Great quality grinder at an amazing price
I've been using the Chestnut C3 ESP grinder for a few months now and I LOVE it! It's smooth and consistent at all grind sizes I've tried. I mainly brew espresso, and this grinder offers many grind settings so you can really dial in what works for your machine. This thing is STURDY. It's solid metal, no plastic to be seen anywhere. The knurling feels really good in the hand. The aesthetics are beautiful, with a sleek matte black finish. With the way this grinder looks and performs, I would expect it to be twice the price.

Just get it. Its exceptional.
The build quality and the experience of using this grinder is incredible. I have been able to reliably create better pour overs across light, medium, and dark roast coffees at home than I have ever been able to order from cafes. The recommended grind settings are a little too fine for me, but 17-20 clicks from closed is perfect for V60 filters (for me). Easy to grip, easy to adjust, easy to grind, looks great. The grinder is full of subtle design choices that speak to a care and craftsmanship I dont encounter often. The inner surfaces of the receptacle cup are chamfered to ease pouring. The threaded section is triple threaded so you dont have to turn it a bunch of times to release it. You can easily measure out beans into the cup and then invert the main grinder onto the threaded section to transfer beans without spilling. The burr adjustment mechanism is recessed so you can stand the upper section of the grinder up without it tipping over. And on and on. It is excellent. I bet there are better grinders out there but I dont really care. Timemore has won me over.

Grinds like I expected it to grind. Perfectly!
This coffee grinder I really nice. It grinds to the proper consistency. It’s easy to set the fines of the grind and it feels well made. If I discover differently I’ll boost an update.
