a quality product from hippo
I bought a Hippo rectangular fabric, with 95 percent sun and uv blocking capacity, after consulting with the business owner Shiva. I communicated that my requirement was for protecting my car from the fury of the monsoon in Mumbai. His advise was to go in for this fabric, which was 95 percent impervious to water. While the car doesn't stay totally dry, it's well protected from the rain onslaught, leaves and bird droppings. The fabric is sturdy, and allows gusts of wind to pass thru, without tearing. A good buy... we have successfully gone thru a cyclone and torrential rain. I purchased a 16ftx12ft rectangle, with sturdy ss hooks. Indications: should last a couple of monsoons more. The rope sent with the package looked substandard, tho.

Hippo Sail
The fabric, stitched edges and corner hooks 🪝 are well crafted. However, lengthier sails should be provided with extra hooks and rivets. This would help and ensure securing the sail and making it taut. Inexplicably, an earlier rectangular sail ( smaller ones) had eight eyelets to the four provided (larger sails) bought recently.

Like a vampire, little bit of sunlight and it disintegrates.
Works great if you protect it from sun. Got twice once in 2023, and then again may of 2025. After 2 years the first set started to rip and disintegrate. I considered it to be ok enough to buy again. The new set lasted less than 6 months, already disintegrating. Looks like Thanos snapped his fingers and they just a touch away from turning into dust. Only edges survive, they have something stronger inside. Rest is dust.
