Wonderful Gift For Starwars Fans!
Despite its small size, this little virtual pet game system is filled with fun! R2-D2 grows and changes based on how you take care of him. Not too much care is needed and taking care of R2 isn't annoying. The chirps, beeps, and whistles that R2 makes are cute but don't sound quite like the R2-D2 from the movies. The buttons are a little hard to press and the screen can be hard to see at times, but once you get the hang of the buttons and view the screen under a decent amount of light, it isn't too bad. The screen does NOT have its own backlight, meaning the screen itself does not light up, but as long as the screen is under enough light, the play experience can be enjoyable. This system cannot be turned off without removing the batteries, but you can mute it at any time by holding down the first and third button (buttons A and C) at the same time, which is quite nice to prevent random unwanted beeping from R2. The little game will sometimes surprise you with unexpected character appearances, which is fun. Great for kids, teens, and even adults! Can be enjoyed by men and women, boys and girls who love Star Wars and virtual pets. Wonderful gift! Thanks for reading. May God bless you. Jesus Christ loves you! You are precious and you matter! Have a great day.

My review will clear up if you want to spend $20 on this Tamagotchi! Promise you 👍🏻
For the people that might be reading reviews about the tiny size, or if you should spend $20 on this thing, I got to clear this up the informative way!! I'm a virtual pets nerd, so read on! Also the picture is boring I took, but you can see it from an angle. R2 is currently sleeping as I write this review. Ok here we go! I got mine recently and opened it up today. Unfortunately there seems to be a little scratch on the screen which I guess I'll return this and get another one. So far, it's been day one, and as a fan of virtual pets, I think any Star wars dork, and person that just likes virtual pets would absolutely love this because they already know it is a tamagotchi nano version. They already know what they're getting into. Tamagotchi nano series has smaller buttons, lower frequency of care needed, an egg-shaped design, and it's just smaller in general. It seems that when tamagotchi merges with another big company they tend to do it with the nano devices. The regular tamagotchi is what people are used to. But when you look into it, the nano series is also its own thing entirely. Nintendo collaborated with Pikachu and Eevee, obviously Star wars, Pac-Man, and I'm sure there's like some Japanese one that I forgot. I hope it clears up any frustration from other reviewers that say this thing is too small. Tamagotchi just has a much more diverse ecosystem that you might have never known of. If you want to check it out, there's at least the tamagotchi mini, the tamagotchi nano, the regular tamagotchi, that most retro people will know. The nano series has a special place in most people's hearts that love virtual pets. Which if you are a dork like me, and you don't have the Pac-Man one, I HIGHLY recommend it. It was really fun! So far this R2 is worth $20 to me. The sounds are a big sell to me. The bleeps and bloops make it adorable. You just have to understand that there is a whole different series of various models of tamagotchi. If you think the nano is small, check out the mini series. Even smaller. And I love the mini. It's very simple. Think Ages 4-7? The nano is the in between series. 7-12. The regular tamagotchi is 13 and up to understand them. The newer ones with color screens and cameras are intense to say the least with what you can do. If you have a busy life as an adult and can't take care of the demands of a regular tamagotchi, have a kid who's like 6 and up, and / or obviously love the Star wars series, it will add a smile to your day, and that's what matters most to me. I hope that helps clear up confusion on size, expectation, and general feel for the software experience. 👍🏻

The nostalgia is strong with this one.
I have fond memories of having a Tamagotchi and I am a Star Wars fan. With this disclaimer out of the way, I am rather pleased with this R2-D2 version. Although it is smaller than the regular Tamagotchi, the 8bit pictures are very clear and one can easily tell what's going on. The audio cues are close enough to the "real deal". The minigames are amusing and the buttons, while a bit on the mushy side, are responsive enough. I will say that I have forgotten what a responsibility it is to maintain your character and having it beep for your attention randomly during the day can get a bit annoying. I ended up muting it, but unfortunately, that caused me to forget to keep up with it and my character was taken by the Jawas (perish). I wish there was a pause or off button. I still think this is a great little collectible and makes for a great gift, and the price in my opinion is just right.

Not a lot to do and small size.
My kids enjoys this “pet” game. It is pretty small though. It might be a little bigger than the pic on your phone. I know these can be popular, but I don’t think it’s worth the price really.

Cool and unique for teens
Cutest thing ever for that teen that’s hard to shop for, if you’re a Starwars family (and if not, you low key- might need to look into that lol) Works well simple buttons to learn but can do a lot. Good long lasting battery and fits in everything.

He’s pretty awesome! He beeps to let you know he needs you but if you want you can turn off his sounds. He shifts and “evolves” changing forms and sometimes joining a fighter! You get to take care of him and there are a couple games you can play with him. He’s honestly more entertaining than I thought he would be.
