What rv charger converter system is compatible with the Optima? My current wet house battery requires maintenance.

You have to use a "modern" charger that has a "gel battery" selection. I had to buy a new charger to make my gel batteries charge after too much discharge. I think that the gel battery requires a different program that deals with how the charge is taken up in the gel/electrode system rather than the wet electrode system. As I recall, the Optima website has some information on charging gel batteries.

is this a good marine battery

I would say yes. It's all position and sealed. It's amazingly stron and holds a charge extremely well. I used this battery to replace an almost new Toyata battery in a Landcruser. The ca only gets driven once or twice a week. The Toyota battery did not hold a charge well. This yellow top shows me over 1000 cold cranking amps. The Toyota just 500. This is on par with a diesel starting battery.I have a boat with Volvo Diesel engines. I use two 27F marine deep cycle batteries for each other nine. This yellow top could do the job by itself but it's pricey.
