Warner's 30th Anniversary Special Edition of Enter the Dragon is newly remastered (2.35:1 digital transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound), looking and sounding better than ever. Included are two extended scenes, not part of the original U.S. release, that add an additional four minutes to the film. All five documentaries do an excellent job telling the story of a young immigrant determined to make a name for himself in an industry hesitant to make an Asian a headliner. Interestingly, although there is overlap, each documentary has its own focus and take on Bruce Lee. For those interested in the film, there is Blood and Steel (30 minutes). This documentary is a newly produced "making of" for this 30th Anniversary Edition. It gives a good overview on Lee, but the emphasis is on the filming of Enter the Dragon, its importance for Asian and action cinema, and Bruce's involvement in the production process. For the fan of Bruce Lee, you can't beat John Little's Bruce Lee: A Warrior's Journey (2000, 100 minutes). The documentary focuses on Lee's lifetime journey from martial artist to film star, breaking the rules of tradition in the pursuit of practicality, efficiency, and excellence. Fans are guaranteed to be blown away by the added, reconstructed footage of Bruce Lee's intended cut of The Game of Death. For those interested in learning more about his movie career and the mysterious deaths of Bruce and Brandon Lee, there's Bruce Lee: The Curse of the Dragon (1993, 87 minutes). Great audiovisual presentation, lots of extras, interesting commentary by producer Paul Heller, the ultimate martial arts film: this Warner release is everything you could ever want in a special edition DVD.
