Is there any sort of warranty with the international version? I'm from the US

Since this is the International version they will not included warranty. However, Amazon.com and most sellers on Amazon.com offer returns for items within 30 days of receipt of shipment.

The description says this lens is for NIKON. But other question- answers are saying it is canon compatible. What is it really?

Tamron has models for both, nikon AND canon (and other brands too), it depends on what de description says. If you search for Tamron 70-300mm you will se in the title some of them say FOR NIKON and others say FOR CANON. So, see the descriiption. BTW GREAT LENS, great definition and totally worth the money! Even better than the nikon itself!

I have 2 canon lens 18-55 and 70-300 zoom. I don't want interchangeable lens and want to have one that I can carry. Will this lens serve the purpose?

Your 70-300 already covers the range of the lens in question. Since your only trying to cover your basics I would say this one is not necessary. If you are trying to get rid of both your lens it will not cover most indoor needs as 70 zoom is a bit too tight for small spaces. So no it will not replace the two you currently have. If your looking to upgrade this lens is worth buying to get the image stabilization (VC).
