Wish both the caps were attached. Lost one end (c port) right away. But it works great. Easy to use. Small and convenient. Reads my cards well. Decently priced. No complaints aside from the cap that was immediately lost. But it doesn’t affect the functionality of the item at all. Feels like it’s built well and I don’t worry about it breaking.

Gets pretty warm under heavy use (copy large files etc.), but works good. Occasionally disconnects but Windows continues the file transfers without interruption. Lightweight and easy to use. No additional software needed.

This is a *great* item, and is SUPER useful for backing up phones, tablets, etc. It's like having an all-purpose/variable-sized USB fob where you can just swap out the MicroSD/HC/XC card (and it has a handy extra port for Ye Olde Fashioned memory cards as well, and while I don't tend to use those much these days, for quickly stripping off the pictures off a stack of old ones I had for an older camera, it worked great for that as well). Even better, you can use an adapter for a MicroSD card, plug that in, *and* use the MicroSD slot at the _same time_ - that, plus being USB 3.0 makes for speedy transfers, and having both USB-C + USB-A on each end makes it a breeze to transfer files between devices, or it works as a standalone USB fob of adjustable size. FTR, they show up as two separate disks. While I haven't used anything higher than 256GB cards, allegedly it'll work with up to 2TB MicroSD cards; I can't confirm that, though I'd believe it. Have a phone or tablet with 64GB storage? Use a 64GB MicroSD card; have a device with 128Gb? Use a 128Gb MicroSD card; have a device with 256GB storage? - you get the picture. No software needed, small, lightweight, and probably the best ~$10 I ever spent on a device like this.

I now have a way to go directly to my phone and skip the PC, works great! Update: I was not near a PC and my bodycam alerted me to format my memory card and shut off. The bodycam would not run because the memory card got a error. I retrieved my uni SD Card Reader, put the memory card from the body into it and connected it to my phone. My phone immediately asked to format the memory on USB, I approved it and the memory card was formatted and fixed. I placed the card back into the bodycam and things work fine again. This is an awesome little reader, highly recommend!

Reads my SD card beautifully and the multipurpose nature of this product makes it a useful tool to have on standby if you expect to transfer/read data. It's good value, connects easily, and works like a charm.

I liked the smaller form factor versus the old Sandisk ImageMate All-In-One workhorse model that is intended for a desktop setup. I had no issues with the Uni USB-C reading Samsung or San Disk memory cards. Uni functioned perfectly via port to port read and write at simultaneously and from card to card data transfers. [NOTE: a few users complained the device did not function in that manner by design. I can assure you it has no issues reading and writing to two SD cards mounted in the unit.] SETUP: 2014.5 Macbook Pro running OSX 10.15.3 with Uni USB-C 3.0 mated to Mac USB port directly (no USB hub). MEDIA: -Samsung SD 500GB card connected directly into the micro SD slot (no adapter) -Sandisk 400GB card connected via card adapter into larger SD slot. (w adapter) ANOMALY: THERMAL ISSUES Upon insertion, Spotlight indexing alone caused the Samsung SD card to get red hot to the touch thus warranting an immediate shutdown and removal of the device. -Spotlight was disabled and the Samsung card was reinserted without thermal issues. -Sandisk SD card inserted. No issues. Data transfer was then started with a few small files at a time without issue. 2.26GB of docx files were then transferred without issue. When moving large amounts of data however, the card got hot. So did the entire USB card reader. UNI device warm to the touch. Card temp nominal temp. No rise detected. The transfer results were successful. This device does work regarding Form, Fit and Function. However, the heat issues are something one should be weary of. Reason being, as a comparison, I ran the same Samsung SD card in the old Sandisk ImageMate All-In-One model and allowed Spotlight to index the entire 500GB card. The card was luke warm while the reader body was cold. Now, as to whether or not the circuit board inside was getting warm or not, I cannot attest to that but, I can attest to the fact the temperate of the SD card itself was luke warm. And that is really what matters. A scorching hot memory card warrants attention. I can copy the entire contents and move it over in one operation without the cards melting down on the old workhorse (Sandisk ImageMate All-In-One) . For smaller data transfers or, perhaps other applications on other computers this UNI USB-C reader may operate okay. I cannot say without testing it myself in a reliability lab for months on end. The OEM making these should have done a DOE and all the Environmental and Reliability Testing to ensure thermal runaway was not an issue. It is an issue that warrants attention. SUMMARY: Great form factor. No fitment issues. (Note: I hope users are aware of the direction the cards go in. It sounds like some are jamming the cards in in the incorrect orientation. I had no fitment issues on the 2021 model. Transfer speeds were quick. Hundreds of GBs of data were moved without corruption. The only anomaly or issue rather of concern is the thermal rise at the SD card level. If they are using the body of the device as a heat sink to wick heat away from the components inside, I get that aspect. It is a very small form factor but, the question is where is the heat originating: The card or the electronics inside? I would not take a chance on a scorching hot memory card being reliable and holding out for any length of time - especially on repeated thermal shocks like what this device subjects cards to.
