High quality MIUSA jar for sourdough
It's very spacious and seems to do its job extremely well- letting sourdough starter feed and rise, expelling gas without letting anything in. Flies are rare, when I did have a couple they were unable to get in the jar with the lid closed. Easy to clean, nothing in there has molded after months of use. And made in USA to boot. Support your local craftsmen!

Broken times 2
We ordered this item and it was poorly packaged and arrived in several pieces. We bartered a pre placement and it also arrived broken in several pieces. Guess we will wait until the manufacturer stops skimming on packing material.

Love Love Love it!
I have been using a sour dough start off and on for 3yrs and have been looking for a jar that I could easily dump my flour into and not spill on the counter. This crock is perfect! It’s well made, straight edges, and wide enough to easily fit my 1c. into. I can easily scoop out the discard (rather than dumping). After feeding and mixing I wipe the upper portion with a damp paper towel to keep the crock clean. Right away my start was happy here. I feel the thick walls provide more insulation and it stays at peak bubbly fermentation longer than in my glass mason or weck jars. I am so happy!!

Perfect for Sourdough starter
I was looking for a better way to store my starter and also wanted it to be made is the USA. We had a local pottery place that closed a few years ago so I went looking on Amazon. This crock is perfect allows for about 4-5 cups of starter to be in it at all times allowing for plenty of room for growth and multiple batches of bread a day.

Best solidly made crock!
This an absolutely great crock for sourdough starter! Thick. Solidly made, and easy to clean when down to a small amount of starter. Love it. I’m a regular bread baker for the past few years. My recipe calls for two cups for two large loaves. This is perfect.

My crock (and now my heart) is broken :(
It was great, until 3 weeks later, I found the crock had cracked overnight and my sourdough starter was bubbling through the large crack and onto my granite counter. It seemed fine upon arrival - was packed well and I didn’t see any obvious defects or damage. As you build your starter, you simply remove some, add more, stir, and let it do its thing until you have enough starter and can then move to the fridge. We hadn’t had it long enough to even move it to the fridge. I am super disappointed because it was the perfect size. I plan to reach out to the seller about a possible replacement.

not suitable for use in making sourdough starter
I originally purchased this crock intending to use it for use when making and maintaining my sourdough starter. However, upon close inspection, I think it will be unsuitable for this purpose. It was made by hand using a pottery wheel and this resulted in grooves on the inside that were left by the potter's finger tips. Otherwise, it is a nice little crock. However, I think the grooves will make it unnecessarily difficult to clean. A glass crock would have been a better choice. Anyhow, live and learn. I'll have to find something else to use it for.

Worth a put 5 bucks , I thought it was a real crock pot , some one made this at ceramics class or bought at dollarama and resold it

Disappointed. The pot arrived with a chip on the rim which has subsequently been glazed. I’m surprised that I’m expected to cover the shipping costs (I gather up to $20 will be refunded) when the fault lies with the manufacturer.
