this is a perfect time to revisit her roots and spend time with ...
Detective Christie Watson is on a forced sabbatical from her job with Boston Homicide. For Christie, this is a perfect time to revisit her roots and spend time with her friend Grizzy back in Sleepy Creek. Unfortunately for Christie, one of the locals is murdered and she and Grizzy are immediately involved. It is very interesting how this murder then brings Christie back to something that she didn’t really want to face. The death of her mother. Thus begins “The Fiesta Burger Murder,” a cozy mystery by author Rosie A. Point. This is a short, quick read that has many entertaining moments. I found myself laughing out loud while reading this book. I loved the fact that the lead in this book was a female detective. No many books have the females as the lead detective. I also loved the backdrop of this little old town. I grew up in a very small town so I could relate to a lot of the happenings in this small town. This was a great start to The Burger Bar Series. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.I was lucky enough to have received an ARC copy of this book, and chose to do a review as I do every book I read this is my honest opinion.

Good First Book in A Series
After being forced to take a break from her job in Boston, Detective Christie Watson heads to her hometown of Sleepy Creek, Ohio. In order for her to return to her job, she must be on her best behavior and stay out of any criminal investigations. Her best friend, Grizzy, offers her a place to stay and even gives her a temporary job in the burger bar she owns. The problem in returning to her hometown, it reminds her of her mother’s unsolved murder. Then, a man is murdered in Grizzy’s yard and the cops turn their eyes directly on Grizzy as the prime suspect. Even though she’s not supposed to get involved, Christie is ready to risk her career to save her best friend, not to mention doing a little snooping into her mother’s death. This is the first book in the Burger Bar cozy mystery series and I think it got off to an excellent start. I was hooked right from the beginning. Even though this is a short story (140 pages), there is quite a bit of depth in this storyline. The characters are well-rounded. I liked Christie and her friends immediately. Christie is a strong sleuth. I’m not going to say amateur sleuth since she is a detective. I loved her determination and strength. The main mystery is wrapped up in this story, but there is a secondary mystery that continues to the next book. So, I do suggest starting with this book. I’m really looking forward to reading more of this series. I can’t believe I’ve had this one on my Kindle for so long. I do have to warn readers…this book will make you very hungry.

amusing cozy murder mystery
This book was a bit too cute and quirky for my taste, seems geared more to younger readers. Take over kids!

What a great cozy mystery!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I was up till after 4 AM reading till my eyes were blurry. That's how good I thought it was.I love the characters. It's a great story and it moves along quickly. The book can be read as a stand-alone but has an another plot that continues. I just bought the next book. There's plenty of danger and suspense, a new and old murder, old friends, new friends, twists and turns, plenty of surprises and a great ending. It's a great cozy mystery you don't want to miss.

A Fun Read but needs more of everything!
3.5 stars rounded up.The Fiesta Burger Murder is the first installment in the Burger Bar Mystery series by Rosie A. Point. This book is actually novella length and was a fun read, though I wish it had been longer. At the end, we're left with more questions than answers, which isn't generally how I like to end a cozy mystery. The characters are well-written and complex. I love Griselda. She's awesome! I'm not sure how I feel about Christie. She's a little too impulsive for my taste, but I want to see what she's like in additional books before really making a decision. The setting descriptions that were included were well done, I just wish there had been more. I can easily visualize Griselda's house and the Burger Bar, but the rest of the small town, not so much. It would've been great to see other things happening in town besides just the murder, giving us more locales to imagine and to put the town together in our minds. The story line moved along very quickly given the shortness of the book. I was able to follow the story line, so it wasn't too quick in that regard, I just wish we had gotten more background information on Christie and Griselda, more information about the killer, just more information in general. That's why I only gave it a 3.5 out of 5 rating. It just needed more.I'm still looking forward to the second book and hoping that we get more of that missing information then.

Wonderful small-town cozy mystery
This is a wonderful beginning to a new series by new-to-me author, Rosie A. Point with colorful characters, small town vibe, a good page-turner mystery, humor, twists and turns. I really liked Christie Watson who returns home after being placed on a three-month sabbatical from her job as a Boston homicide detective and her interactions with the other characters especially her best friend, Griselda, who owns Grizzy's Burger Bar in Sleepy Creek, Ohio. If you're like me, you won't be able to put the book down from the first page to the last. I can't wait to see what happens next in the Burger Bar Mystery series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
